António Monteiro

Político
António Monteiro is a PhD candidate in International Studies at ISCTE – IUL, Portugal. He holds a bachelor’s degree in European Studies and International Politics and a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of the Azores.
His research focuses on the internationalism of the Azorean islands, particularly their impact on transatlantic transport, communications, and knowledge. He works at the Santa Maria Oceanic Control Center and is the co-founder and current chairman of LPAZ Association, as well as vice-president of Clube Asas do Atlântico.
He has co-edited several works on the cultural heritage of aviation, including, among others, L’aviation et son impact sur le temps et l’espace. His most recent individual work is titled As Ilhas nas Relações Internacionais: Santa Maria (Açores) no Século XX.
